The Technical Operations Processor - Level 1 (CM) is responsible for performing critical tasks within the manufacturing, storage, and quality assurance processes for blood and blood components. This role ensures the safe handling, preparation, and documentation of products in compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manufacturing
- Inspect and prepare blood and blood components according to standard operating procedures.
- Transport blood and blood products in compliance with established protocols.
- Accurately document activities using the computer system or downtime paperwork.
- Re-manufacture finished products into new products as outlined in procedures.
Storage
- Maintain inventory devices and their contents within acceptable limits.
- Manage inventory by attributes such as:
- Unprocessed/processed status
- Temperature range
- Product name
- ABO/Rh type
- Biohazard separation
- Document temperature data and ensure proper handling of inventory.
- Retrieve in-house products as indicated.
Quality Assurance
- Identify and report variances or errors to the supervisor or manager.
General Responsibilities

- Exhibit courtesy, conscientiousness, and professionalism in all interactions with internal and external customers.
- Ensure proper use and operation of equipment to minimize repair and maintenance costs.

Requirements
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Manufactures and transports blood and blood components from collections obtained at all establishment fixed and mobile sites; stores and maintains finished products in establishment inventories following all Houchin Community Blood Bank (HCBB) policies, procedures and ensure quality systems essentials are followed.
EXPERIENCE:
- Basic keyboarding
- Customer service
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent Valid California Driver's License
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (able to convey and receive verbal and written information in a clear manner while being sensitive to the audience addressed) Working knowledge of computer systems and applications
- Ability to organize tasks efficiently and accurately Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team setting
- Shift flexibility to work night and weekend shifts
- Ability to adapt to regulatory and industry changes
- Ability to follow instructions, reason and make appropriate judgements
ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift, carry and pull up to 50 pounds
- Work in air-conditioned lab style building
- Be in and out of air-conditioned company vehicle making deliveries, etc Ability to stand, bend, and sit for long periods of time
