Position: Speech Language Pathologist - Long Term Sub
Approximately January 24, 2025 through May 2, 2025
Location: Houghton/Chocksett Schools
Pay: $150 Per Diem
Covering a leave of absence, the Long Term Sub SLP shall:
Conduct thorough speech and language assessments for students to identify communication disorders and challenges.
Collaborate with Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams to develop and implement appropriate goals and strategies for students with speech and language needs.
Provide reevaluation services as required, ensuring timely and accurate assessment of student progress.
Plan and conduct group and individual therapy sessions, tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
Consult with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide guidance and strategies for supporting students' communication skills in the classroom.
Attend and actively contribute to team meetings, including IEP meetings and other multidisciplinary gatherings, to provide insights and collaborate on student interventions.
Work collaboratively with other speech pathologists, educators, and related service providers to create a holistic support system for students.
Prepare and deliver clear and informative quarterly progress reports on students' speech and language development.
Stay up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and best practices in speech pathology to continually enhance your skills and the quality of services provided.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) preferred.
Experience working with high school students and familiarity with the unique challenges they may face.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet individual student needs.
Organizational skills to manage assessments, therapy sessions, and documentation efficiently.
Dedication to providing inclusive and equitable services to a diverse student population.
A passion for helping students overcome communication barriers and achieve their full potential.
