What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Maintenance Worker position at Houghton County Memorial Airport?
General Summary:
Performs Grounds Maintenance services and minor facility maintenance of the Airport terminal, and related grounds, additional tasks as directed by the Airport Manager. All employees shall be required to comply with the appropriate background check for entry into restricted areas.
Typical Duties:
Maintain Airport Complex grounds to include sidewalks, parking area, building entrances, and lawn care.
Mow lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Sweep walkways, parking lots, and aprons of debris and collect trash.
Rake, mulch, trim shrubs, weed and repair lawn damage done by winter plowing.
Remove snow and ice using snow blower, shovel, and ice scraper from building entrances and sidewalks and apply salt.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
Employee shall be able to lift 50LBS.
Performs janitorial duties as necessary or as a backup.
Ancillary Duties – As directed by the Airport Manager or designee.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
