Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
About the Role
- Coordinate the administration and clinical activities for the nursing department on a designated shift or unit in accordance with current regulations that govern long-term care facilities.
- Serve as a resource to staff in clinical and managerial decision-making, delegate responsibilities to staff.
- Participate in inspections (surveys) made by authorized agencies.
- Participate in and assure appropriate assessment of residents, validate nursing staff's clinical decisions.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and communication of resident's plan of care.
- Making frequent rounds on nursing units to ensure all personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with established nursing standards, and all resident needs are being met.
- Monitor documentation procedures of nursing staff, follow up on problem areas with employees, and make oral/written reports to the Director of Nursing.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited RN program required.
- Three years of experience with one year of long-term or sub-acute care experience required. One year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Current New York State RN licensure required. Responsible for annual re-licensure per regulations. Compliance with yearly CEU requirements. Current CPR, Accucheck, and IV Therapy certification required.
