Hiring AM Kennel Assistant

Hound Dog Pet Hotel & Spa is hiring! We are hiring full & part time morning kennel assistants at our pet hotel in Eden Prairie. Shift times are mornings 6:00a.m. to 2:30p.m.
REQUIREMENTS: ALL STAFF are required to work a minimum of two set shifts a week, one of these set shifts need to be a weekend shift. All staff are required to have a valid driver's license. Staff need to have diploma or GED.
Kennel Assistants take part in daily operations of running the business; primarily kennel staff create and supervise play groups outdoors, provide general pet care like feeding, cleaning up after pets and administering medications. Other duties assigned to kennel assistants include but isn't limited to: thorough cleaning of the grounds and facility/supplies, pressure washing and disinfecting rooms, keeping a watchful eye on our boarding and daycare pets for anxious behavior or decline of health and to love and care for each pet as if they were our own. Kennel assistants at times have contact with our "human clients" and must provide good quality customer service, be able bodied for physical work and need to be able to work productively outdoors in all weather types.

We are hiring personnel that:

• Have a general knowledge of canine/feline needs, breeds and behaviors
• Have the ability to work 6-8 active hours on their feet, able to lift 25 lbs. ( ) repeatedly in a shift and are able to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Must be flexible with scheduling; we are the busiest on weekends and holidays when people travel. ALL STAFF are required to work a minimum of two set shifts a week one of those days being a weekend shift (Saturday/Sunday).
• Must be able to communicate well with coworkers, managers and clients effectively and be able to work as a team
• Must have time management and organizational skills; looking for people that can be self-sufficient and work with minimal supervision after training
• Be able to withstand at times an unpleasant environment; noise, hair, foul smells and still have a good attitude (these are animals we are working with)
• Must have a calm and perceptive mind frame; there will be times we need to deal with an emergency and under pressure.

Our work is challenging, fun and rewarding! We prefer applicants with previous pet industry experience, yet we are willing to train the right candidate.
