Cafe/Bar Manager

Hound Haus is the first of its kind in Pittsburgh: an all-day café, bar, and fully staffed dog park. With over 10,000 sq ft. of dog play space, an intimate café and modern bar, Hound Haus offers a one-of-a-kind environment for community-minded people and their dogs to share connections and have some fun in a welcoming, playful setting.

This position is responsible for managing the café/bar at Hound Haus. This is a hands-on leadership role. The Manager will be responsible for developing processes and guiding the performance of team members, but will also need to craft exceptional coffee, tea, cocktails, beer, wine, and other drinks with passion. The Manager will interact with many of Hound Haus’ guests and have a significant impact on a guest’s experience. Our goal is to create a memorable experience for people and their pups in a community-focused café and bar. A successful Manager will be friendly, trustworthy, honest, courteous, knowledgeable about all aspects of our menu and operations, and have the ability to lead a team.

We’re looking for a full-time candidate. Flexible hours considered.

What You’ll Do, but not limited to:

· Lead the café and bar staff teams with a positive, energetic approach

· Develop, maintain, and execute standards and processes for the café/bar

· Cultivate positive guest experiences through dynamic presence

· Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea beverages, beer, wine, cocktails, dog treats, and other food/drink items as needed

· Provide an energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism

· Maintains café/bar inventory levels and communicates with ownership for replenishing inventory

· Maintains inventory of grab-and-go items and prepackaged food items and communicates with ownership for replenishing inventory.

· Delegates duties to café/bar staff, including cleaning, stocking, etc.

· Be well-versed in the menu and product offerings

· Present and encourage current promotions to guests.

· Adhere to safety and hygiene standards

· Maintain a clean bar and work environment

· Rings out customers, handle cash, process transactions, and close out at close of business

· Operate all coffee equipment, maintaining cleanliness and efficiency.

· Ensure the coffee bar area is a welcoming space for work-from-home patrons, facilitating a productive and enjoyable environment.

The ideal candidate has:

· Prior management experience

· Prior barista or bartending experience

· Excellent communication skills and customer service

· Enthusiasm towards working in a dog-friendly environment

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
