We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and passionate Dog Behavior Specialist & Playtime Supervisor to join our team at our luxury dog boarding facility. This role will involve supervising dogs during playtime, interacting with customers, and performing light office duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Playtime Supervision & Safety: Supervise dogs during play sessions, ensuring that all dogs are safe, well-behaved, and having fun. Be alert and proactive in managing group dynamics and ensuring that playtime remains positive and safe for all dogs.
  • Behavior Monitoring & Management: Use your knowledge of dog behavior to monitor and assess the dogs' socialization, intervening as necessary to correct any negative behaviors and provide redirection.
  • Relationship-Based Training: Implement basic behavior modification techniques as needed, helping dogs practice good manners and social skills while interacting with others.
  • Customer Service: Provide a high level of customer service by communicating effectively with dog owners, answering questions, providing updates on their dog’s behavior, and ensuring they feel informed and confident in our services.
  • Light Office Duties: Assist with general administrative tasks, such as checking in/out dogs, updating pet records, scheduling playtime and boarding reservations, and ensuring that all paperwork is in order.
  • Lifeguard Mentality: Maintain a "lifeguard" mindset by being vigilant and quick to respond to any potential safety concerns, such as signs of stress, aggressive behaviors, or dog conflicts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Dog Behavior: A strong understanding of dog behavior, body language, and socialization practices, with some experience in dog training, dog daycare, or dog boarding environments. Relationship-based training techniques are a plus.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and listening skills as well as the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with dog owners. A friendly, approachable attitude is essential.
  • Safety Conscious: Ability to remain calm and make quick, sound decisions in potentially stressful situations. First-aid or CPR certifications for dogs are a plus but not required.
  • Team Player: Ability to work closely with other team members and contribute to the smooth operation of the facility.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to walk, stand, and stay active for extended periods of time, as well as being comfortable supervising dogs in active play environments.
  • Light Office Skills: Basic computer knowledge and experience with office tasks such as scheduling, answering calls, and maintaining pet records.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week

Shift:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Morning shift

Work Days:

  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Rotating weekends
  • Weekends as needed
