Hound HQ is seeking to hire a part-time Dog Daycare Associate to provide More Wags, More Fun for dogs in Hound HQ’s care at our new facility off of 156th and Dodge in West Omaha.

About the Position

Dog Daycare Associates should be people who have a passion for caring for dogs and ensuring the dogs entrusted in their supervision are safe and happy. The primary responsibility of the Dog Daycare Associate is to maintain, encourage, and promote a safe and fun open play experience for groups of dogs. Hound HQ divides up play groups based on size, age and temperament, but the Dog Daycare Associate should be comfortable with any breed as Hound HQ does not breed discriminate. Dog Daycare Associates will be trained on different dog behaviors and signals to proactively maintain a safe play environment for dogs and Hound HQ staff. Job responsibilities include:

• Maintain control at all times of groups of dogs in an open play setting
• Constant movement throughout shifts to provide attention and love to the dogs while maintaining a “leader” status in the daycare group
• Monitor the health and behavior of individual dogs and be able to proactively intervene and address any issues that may come up during open play. Dog Daycare Associates will be trained on proven and safe intervention techniques. Intervention will NEVER include any physical force or punishment and Hound HQ has a zero-tolerance policy for animal mistreatment
• Feeding dogs and ensuring any dog medication is administered during designated times as provided by dog owner
• Maintain a clean environment at all times by picking up after dogs and completing cleaning responsibilities throughout the day. Some cleaning responsibilities include sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, cleaning food and water bowls, laundry, and spraying dog-safe disinfectants
• Utilize handheld devices throughout the day to upload photos and videos of dogs, add notes about a dog’s day, and complete dog daycare report cards
• Ability to learn the business software, PetExec. Dog Daycare Associates may be needed to help facilitate check-out and check-in of dogs. All Dog Daycare Associates will be given training on the PetExec system
• All open play areas are equipped with webcams for pup parents and the Dog Daycare Associate must be able to present professionalism at all times while on shift
• Other responsibilities may come up from time-to-time

Pay

The Dog Daycare Associate position will pay $13.50 per hour. Raises are given throughout the year based on performance, reliability and attention to detail.

Availability

Dog Daycare Attendants work either morning, afternoon or evening shifts. Hours of operation for the business are 6:30am – 6:30pm on weekdays and 7:30am – 5:30pm on weekends. Holidays are a very busy time of the year for the business and Dog Daycare Associates will be required to work certain holidays. Hound HQ will try to accommodate employee scheduling preferences during holidays.

• Must love dogs
• Ability to spend the entire shift on the move and actively engage with dogs in your group
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work flexible days and hours, including holidays and weekends, as needed
• Ability to work with others and communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally
• Have a positive attitude and professional demeanor to all, whether two-legged and four-legged
• 16 years of age or older
• Reliable transportation
• Highly punctual and high personal standards to do work to the best of your ability

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $14.00 per hour
