Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing care and support for the animals in our facility. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for pet care and veterinary services.
Duties:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercising
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns or changes to the veterinary team
- Assist with basic training exercises and socialization activities for dogs
- Handle animals with care and compassion during various procedures or treatments
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, medications, and treatments
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pet care or veterinary settings is preferred
- Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments safely
- Knowledge of basic animal behavior and training techniques
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and physical tasks associated with animal care
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
