Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our organization in promoting a safe and compliant workplace. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and implementing effective training programs to foster a culture of safety within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance status for management review.
- Lead training development initiatives to educate employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and occupational health standards.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety and ensure that EHS policies are integrated into daily operations.
- Manage workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in EHS regulations and industry best practices to continuously improve the organization's safety programs.
- Facilitate CPR training sessions and other relevant health training for employees as needed.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations including OSHA standards, EPA guidelines, and workers' compensation laws.
- Proficient in report writing with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
- Experience in training development with a focus on creating engaging educational materials for diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with occupational health principles and practices.
- Ability to fabricate solutions or modifications to equipment or processes that enhance workplace safety.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization.
