What are the responsibilities and job description for the Women's Substance Use Disorder Counselor position at Hour House?
We would like to add one or two counselors to our team of professionals in a specialized treatment program for women with Substance Use Disorder and their children. Most of the women are survivors of physical or sexual abuse or other serious trauma. The counselor will conduct assessments, provide counseling, facilitate educational and therapy groups and meet with family members who are willing to be supportive of the client. They will also help to manage and supervise the milieu and provide case management as needed to assist clients to cope with court dates, medical problems, continue their education or find employment and plan for successful discharge. Complete, accurate documentation is required in the Electronic Medical Record on a daily basis.
We would like to hire counselors who bring a variety of skills, experience and education. Persons with 3-5 years of continuous drug free recovery, and a BA/BS or MA/MS in Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation or Social Work.
The positions will include work on one weekend day and one or two evenings, per week.
We work as a team. There is support and consultation readily available, and many opportunities to learn and grow as a professional. Counselors will work with women in halfway, recovery home and outpatient services. Certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor is required 2 years post hire.

Pay: $47,500.00 - $55,000.00 per year
