What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Lab Technician position at House-Autry Mills?
House Autry Mills is currently in search of energetic Second Shift QA Technician. This position has the primary responsibility for maintaining production policies and programs, ensuring conformity of the raw materials and finished goods are in accordance with established quality standards and customer specifications. The technician will also ensure that proper testing procedures are utilized and adheres to production specifications. In addition, this position will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with the food safety program and accompanying policies.
HOURS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Monday - Thursday 5p - 3:30a (occasionally Fridays are required.)

QA Technician Duties:
- Responsible to monitor and collect quality data on all products to ensure product specifications, quality and food safety requirements are met and maintained.
- Use established methods for laboratory testing.
- Communicate with QA staff, production management and line personnel regarding quality issues.
- Maintain documentation for traceability.
- Perform quality line checks to ensure proper formulas, packaging, and production code.
- Assist production and warehouse personnel with daily issues and/or problems.
- Assist in management all non-conforming products by isolating product and properly documenting deviations.
- Complete data entry for all product produced as well as distribution of paperwork to appropriate personnel.
- Assist in resolution of internal product issues and consumer complaints by ensuring test results in a timely manner.
- Assist in conducting quality and food safety inspections as requested by supervisor.
- Use an ERP system for inventory control.
- Report any safety, machinery, or equipment issues to supervision.
- Maintain lab supplies inventory.
- Inspection of incoming ingredients.
- Other duties as assigned.
QA Technician Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of experience in food manufacturing preferred.
- Proven ability to apply mathematical concepts and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to be on your feet ten hours or more.
- Flexibility with work schedule may be required.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Able to work independently and with a team.
