What are the responsibilities and job description for the Session Assistant-House Clerk's Office position at House Clerk's Office - Team Georgia Careers?
The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hiring up to six temporary full-time employees for the 2025 session of the Georgia General Assembly. Successful candidates will begin employment in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in the early part of January 2025. The temporary session employment, which typically lasts approximately three months, is expected to end on the day the General Assembly adjourns sine die (which typically occurs in late March or early April).
Session employees will assist full-time staff in supporting the operations of the Clerk's Office. .
JOB DUTIES:
- General Office duties
- Assisting leadership staff and legislators when necessary
- Other duties as assigned by the Clerk's Office
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 18 years of age
- Acceptable criminal history
- Eligible to work in the United States
WORK SCHEDULE
The Clerk's Office typically works from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, there will be select days during session when staff might be required to be present past 5:00 p.m. Advance notice of those extended work days will be provided.
