Opthalmic Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our ophthalmology practice. This position involves managing medical records, assisting with patient interactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk and optical services. The Technician will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care while adhering to aseptic techniques and retail math principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care by performing preliminary assessments and gathering medical histories.
• Manage and maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
• Support front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and answering patient inquiries.
• Provide optical assistance, including fitting eyewear and educating patients on proper use.
• Utilize retail math skills to manage inventory and assist with sales transactions.
• Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during procedures and interactions.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of ophthalmology practices and procedures.
• Proficiency in managing medical records efficiently.
• Excellent front desk management skills with a focus on patient care.
• Familiarity with optical equipment and eyewear fitting techniques.
• Solid understanding of anatomy relevant to eye care.
• Ability to apply retail math concepts effectively in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of medical billing processes is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
