Require working well with various racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds, and differently individuals.Experience in counseling and advocacy techniques for people who have been victims of domestic violence, including crisis intervention and case management skills beneficial.Work or volunteer work in human services, community agencies, or other related nonprofit or social change organizations is a plus. Outstanding oral and written communication and computer skills are required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, working independently, accepting responsibility, and following through project assignments. Must have a High School Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree.Essential job DescriptionRender trauma-informed direct assistance to victims of domestic abuse, including support, crisis mediation, safety planning, information, and referrals on the helpline,Implement follow-up services to clients as requiredRespond to callers accessing 24-hour hotline and render servicesManage client files, agency files, statistics, forms, and other record-keeping as neededPerform all paperwork and register it into the client records database punctuallyadhere to agency policies and work rulesMaintain professional boundariesPerformance SkillsCommit to the mission, vision, and values of the organizationAwareness of domestic violence issuesExpertise to interact sensitively with traumatized people and to manage crisis competentlyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent problem-solving skillsAssist with protective / restraining orders and other court mattersArrange for emergency medical or law enforcement services as neededEvaluate immediate crisis needs of clients and address them appropriatelyManage incoming calls and walk-ins and complete necessary documentationEducate clients about the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault and the options / resources availableEngage in staff meetings, case conferences, and other meetings as neededFacilitate support groups as neededFulfill other duties as assigned by Programs DirectorExperienceAt least two-years’ experience working with victims of domestic violence preferred.Experience working with trauma survivors preferred
