Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Reports to: Development Director
Classification: 40 hours per week, full time, non – exempt (hourly)
Position Summary: The Volunteer Coordinator will work directly with all volunteers as well as with the Development and Case Management team in planning and implementing special events, including volunteer appreciation events, fundraisers, and program participant events. This position is part of the House of Hope team, and consequently, will interact daily with the Executive Director, Development team, Case Management Team, Office Manager, and Donation sorter.
Responsibilities
- Meets with each program participant weekly, addressing strengths and needs, and progress toward goal attainment.
- Acts as liaison to ensure participation in other House of Hope, Aftercare, and Health programs.
- Uses a Trauma Informed Care model to partner with each program participant in writing a usable, applicable case plan, forming SMART goals, and conducting weekly sessions.
- Articulates and models the House of Hope mission, vision and values to visitors, volunteers, staff, stakeholders, and program residents.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Maintain the volunteer database and manage communication with volunteers, including but not limited to mail, in person, phone calls, and email inquiries.
· Coordinate, track, lead, and communicate with all volunteers and volunteer groups for regular and ongoing volunteer needs.
· Coordinate the volunteer base for special events, including evening group activities, the Mentoring Program, fundraisers, and other special projects.
· Assist with evening programming as needed, minimum of monthly, to ensure programming runs smoothly, and volunteers are clear in expectations and have the needed materials to complete their assignments.
· Coordinate and oversee monthly Saturday volunteer groups.
· Communicate with House of Hope team to understand volunteer position needs, develop ideas, and verify communication with participants.
· Participate in community volunteer trainings/events.
· Participate in local volunteer fairs, partner booths, and speaking engagements as needed.
· Adhere to confidentiality policies.
· Possess an understanding of House of Hope processes in order to provide accurate information, represent the organization in a positive manner and provide adequate training to volunteers.
· Bring any concerns regarding volunteer performance to the attention of the House of Hope team, as well as addressing immediate concerns with volunteers as they arise.
· In the absence of a Case Manager, the Volunteer Coordinator will provide guidance and assist the women participating in programming with general questions and support.
· Greet the public, including volunteers, donors, and potential program participants, and facilitate a warm and welcoming environment during regular business hours.
· Receive donations during regular business hours, assisting as needed with unloading items, sorting and shelving.
· Other duties as assigned including but not limited to answering incoming calls and occasionally taking messages as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required. BA preferred. Two years’ experience working with volunteers.
· Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Programs
· Willingness and ability to represent House of Hope’s mission, vision and values.
