Job Summary:
The Child Development Center Director at Kid’s Place is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, administration, and educational programming of the center. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, maintains high-quality early childhood education standards, and fosters a safe, nurturing environment for children, staff, and families. The Director will also lead staff development, manage budgets, and engage with the community to support the center’s mission.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree with 12 college hours child development and 6 college credit hours in management; OR an associate of applied science degree in child development or a **closely related field with 6 college credit hours in child development and 6 college credit hours in management; OR 60 college credit hours with 9 college credit hours in child development and 6 college credit hours in management.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a licensed child-care center.
· Knowledge of state childcare licensing requirements and accreditation standards.
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
· Bilingual a MUST.
· MUST pass a background check.
** “Closely related field” is any educational instruction pertaining to the growth, development, physical or mental care, or education of children ages birth through 13 years.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Administration
· Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure smooth center operations.
· Ensure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
· Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and oversee financial operations.
· Maintain accurate records for staff, children, and regulatory agencies.
· Develop and implement long-term goals for the center’s growth and improvement.
Staff Supervision & Development
· Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate teachers and support staff.
· Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
· Provide professional development opportunities for staff.
· Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Program Development & Curriculum Implementation
· Oversee curriculum planning and ensure alignment with early childhood education standards.
· Support teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
· Monitor child progress and ensure individualized learning plans are in place.
· Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
Family & Community Engagement
· Establish strong relationships with families and encourage parental involvement.
· Address parent concerns and maintain open communication.
· Collaborate with community organizations and resources to enhance program offerings.
Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs and Executive Director.
