We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to lead our on-site safety efforts and ensure a compliant, prepared, and safety-driven workplace.
The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing all safety operations at the Nesmith plant, including compliance with OSHA standards, employee training, incident investigation, and management of first aid response. This role also includes providing hands-on training for pallet jack certification, managing quarterly training through Achemey software, and acting as the primary first aid responder for minor injuries and medical needs on site. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in a safety leadership role within a manufacturing or food production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies aligned with federal, state, and company guidelines.
Conduct regular plant inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
Provide immediate first aid services and assistance to employees when workplace injuries occur; maintain proper documentation and follow-up procedures.
Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective action.
Train employees on safety practices, including proper equipment handling and pallet jack certification.
Utilize Achemey software to schedule, track, and deliver required quarterly safety trainings for all team members.
Ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping of all safety activities, including training, inspections, and injury reports.
Serve as the main contact during OSHA inspections and other safety-related investigations.
Promote a workplace culture where safety is the top priority-always.
Qualifications:
3 years of safety management experience in a poultry, food processing, or manufacturing environment.
Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
Proven experience with employee training, including equipment and safety certifications.
Proficient or willing to learn Alchemey software for managing training schedules and compliance.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Safety certification (OSHA 30, CSP, etc.) preferred.
