Housekeeper/Cook – Wonderful Family in Rye, NY
A warm and welcoming family of five in Rye, NY is looking for a Housekeeper/Cook to help keep their home running smoothly! The family consists of two busy parents and three wonderful daughters (ages 9, 7, and 3). Dad travels frequently for work, and Mom is a stay-at-home parent who loves spending time with the girls and is in and out of the house during the day.
The Ideal Candidate:
The family is looking for someone who can keep the home in order so they can focus on tending to the needs of our daughters. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, flexible, engaging, and enjoys being around children. They also need some help caring for the girls, ensuring they have safe transportation to and from sports, after-school activities, and playdates when needed.
Schedule Options:
The family is flexible and open to both live-in or live-out candidates (or combination of live-in/live-out) for the right candidate.
- Full-time hours: 11:30 AM – 7:30 PM (40 hours guaranteed)
- Split shift option: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM, then 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Summer flexibility: The family spends July & August in the Hamptons, so the candidate could either live in full-time during the summer or commute home on weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Housekeeping: Keeping the home clean and organized, deep cleaning, tidying, family laundry, making beds, dishes, and maintaining kitchen/living areas. The home is 6,000 sq. ft. and includes a finished basement with a playroom, laundry room, and gym.
- Cooking: Preparing simple, healthy meals—Mom and Dad eat only fish and vegetables, while the kids enjoy basic meals with fish, meat, and chicken. No fancy cooking is required, but a love for cooking is a big plus!
- Childcare Support: Assisting with school pick-ups, drop-offs, and after-school activities to help Mom divide and conquer when needed.
- Homework help (if comfortable), especially common core math.
- Errands: Grocery Shopping 2/3 times per week, or as needed. Additional errands as needed.
Position Requirements

- References: Minimum of 2 References
- Background: Background check upon contingent offer of hire

Live-In Accommodations (If Desired):

Compensation & Benefits:
- $35 - $40 per hour, on payroll (DOE), Negotiable for the right candidate
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- 2 weeks paid time off
- Paid holidays (TBD)
