Full-Time Nanny/Family Assistant Needed in Far Hills, NJ
Start Date: March 2025
Schedule: 30-40 hours per week (varies weekly) – flexibility is key! A monthly schedule will be provided, with a mix of 12-hour days, shorter shifts (5-6 hours), and occasional full days off. You can expect to work one weekend a month (typically a Saturday.)
About the Family
This warm, active, and close-knit family is looking for a dedicated long-term nanny to become part of their household. With four young children, they value a nurturing, hands-on approach to childcare. One parent works in the family business, while the other manages the home.
They love traveling, snowboarding, and outdoor adventures and are currently building a farm at their new residence. Summers are spent at their beach house, where the nanny has the option to commute with a travel stipend or stay overnight.
The household is very active, with both parents coming and going frequently. The father works from home a lot, and the mother is in and out throughout the day. The family’s home provides plenty of space to entertain and engage the children. With a large home on a 15-acre property, there’s ample room for indoor and outdoor play. The family values open communication and encourages the nanny to bring up any concerns or issues as soon as possible so they can be addressed proactively.
Responsibilities
- Provide loving care for four children (ages 4, 2, 1, and infant)
- The two oldest attend school four days a week, while the one-year-old goes two days a week.
- Typically responsible for 1-3 children at a time but must be comfortable caring for all four when needed. Mom enjoys one on one time with all her children during the day.
- Maintain daily routines—naps, activities, and structured play.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including:
- Dishes, toy cleanup, family laundry, and meal prep/meals for the kids. The dishes and laundry are always piling up, so it's a team effort to stay on top of them.
- Support school drop-offs, pick-ups, and activity coordination, to the playground, library, pool, zoo, school, and activities.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced with infants & toddlers
- Proactive & takes initiative with daily tasks
- Energetic, creative, and enjoys outdoor activities
- Positive, dependable, and nurturing
- Strong multitasker, able to juggle multiple schedules
- Create and maintain organization systems and tidiness throughout the home.
- Comfortable swimming (family has a pool and enjoys the beach in summer)
- Flexible for occasional weekends, overnights & domestic travel
- Willing to care for children when they are sick.
- Valid driver’s license & reliable personal car for commuting to/from work
Compensation & Benefits
- $60,000 – $75,000/year (hourly rate based on 30-40 hours/week, W-2 employment)
- 7 Days PTO paid holidays
- 2 paid sick/personal days per year
- 2 paid emergency days per year (e.g., inclement weather)
Bonuses & Additional Perks:
- Holiday & birthday bonuses, and yearly reviews/raises
- $500 per 24-hour period for overnights
- $400/day for travel, plus flight, room & board, and covered meals
- Paid gas & travel stipend for beach house trips (1 hour away)
- Minivan provided for driving children.
Live-In Option: The family is open to a live-in arrangement during the week, with weekends off to return home. They are in the process of building a nanny suite in the basement, but in the meantime, a private room and bathroom are available upstairs.
