Lahaina Gateway Ace Hardware is seeking Part-Time Stock Associates. Shifts are normally scheduled between the hours of 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. In this role, individuals are responsible for various store operational duties. A Stock Associate is the face of our brand and will work in accordance with HouseMart’s established policies and procedures and provides excellent customer service. Able to lift up to 60 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Thinks and behaves in alignment with the Company’s vision, mission, goals, objectives and core values.
- Helps ensure sales goals are obtained by ensuring timely distribution of goods from warehouse to sales floor.
- Load and unload freight container; unwrapping palletized items, boxes, and packages of shipment.
- Accurately receives, checks in, prices merchandise. Notates overages, shortages, damages, backorders, etc.
- Accurately merchandise and display (i.e. bins, shelves, displays, etc.) items.
- Greets every customer within 10 feet, in a timely, friendly and courteous manner.
- Continually educates themselves about products and retains specific knowledge about current items.
- Assists in setting up and breaking down of regular, seasonal and/or promotional events as assigned.
- Assists in store recovery (i.e. straightening, fronting, dusting, and merchandise of product) according to proper schematics and established plan-o-grams.
- Performs weekly physical counts as assigned to maintain inventory levels. (i.e. zero counts, negative on-hand, etc.)

- Retrieves shopping carts and/or baskets and returns them to their assigned areas.
- Properly uses and secures two-way radios and headsets as assigned.
- Is aware of potential security, safety and/or shoplifting issues and reports any incidents and/or concerns immediately to management.
- Able to report to work as scheduled. Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance. Attends and participates in training sessions and monthly store meetings as required.
- Safety and security:
- Work in a safe manner to protect yourself, your co-workers and others who may be affected by your actions.
- Work together on exercising prevention methods to minimize injury or loss. Suggest solutions to mitigate hazards.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Helps train new associates as requested.
- Assists store management in the annual preparation and taking of the store’s physical inventory.
- Performs general housekeeping duties (i.e. up keeps a professional appearance of the office, store’s floors, fixtures, restrooms, employee lounge, etc.) Performs general maintenance of the store’s premises (i.e. store entrance, parking lot, receiving, etc.)
- Promptly and accurately performs any other related duties as assigned by store management.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Equipment/Tools Used: Occasional use of various store equipment such as hand trucks, flatbeds, ladders and various hand tools (i.e. glue guns, scissors, stapler, saws, drills, etc.) computer, printers, zebra devices, fax machine, shredder, calculator, telephone, two way radios and headsets etc.
Work Hours: Available flexible hours as required.(Evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays)
Work Environment: Works under store and warehouse conditions. Occasional exposure to heat, dust, solvents, chemicals, paint, glues, etc.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Requires attention to detail, concentration and alertness.
- Ability to work under pressure, demonstrate effective decision-making, and ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.
- Organizes work to complete assignments, maintains accuracy, pays attention to detail, and demonstrates customer service standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Occasional push, pull, and/or lift up to 60 lbs. of materials, including lifting and maneuvering up to 100 lbs. of merchandise using a hand truck.
- Ability to stand for durations up to 8 hours at a time.
- Frequent reaching, twisting, turning, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and squeezing.
- Manual dexterity to operate computer, calculator and misc. hand tools.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Retail customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees, management, customers and vendors using both verbal and written skills. Able to understand and follow instructions to complete assignments.
- General knowledge of computers and computer systems.
