What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shelter Safety & Compliance Manager position at Housing Assistance?
Summary/Objective
The primary function of the EA Safety and Compliance Manager is to insure the ongoing, overall safety and compliance of the shelter facility and its programs. This role oversees the required trainings, drills, and reporting of the Love Lane shelter program as well as the non-compliance process for all shelter guests.
Essential Functions
o Coordinate with VP of Homeless Services Develop appropriate program procedures, policies, and forms and ensure their implementation.
o Ensure compliance with agency and EOHLC policies and procedures for guests and staff.
o Ensure annual staff training is scheduled and completed.
o Conduct monthly safety drills and follow up with addressing any need areas with both guests and staff.
o Maintain accurate program documentation such as fire drills, incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.
o Conduct shelter guest room inspections daily.
o Conduct weekly shelter facility walk through and address safety risk areas.
o Initiate and manage any non-compliance issues and terminations.
o Complete monthly
o Submit quarterly report to COO regarding frequency and type of incidents and non-compliances.

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Service or Social Science field
· Strong written and oral communication and conflict resolution skills.
· Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with clients, staff and community professionals.
· Ability to work effectively during a crisis situation.
· Possess well developed decision making skills.
· Computer proficiency with thorough knowledge of MS Word and MS Outlook
· Valid MA driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience
· 5 year’s experience working with homeless or low income families.
· Experience developing, managing, evaluating and operating programs serving homeless population, particularly experience with homeless families.
· Knowledge of community resources
· Bilingual

Work Environment
· The functions of this role are conducted in an office and field environment.
Hours of Work
· This role is paid on salaried basis.
· Typically, full-time salaried employees work 35 hours during a Monday through Friday. However, this is a salaried position. Therefore, the individual is expected to work as required to complete the duties of the position. This may mean hours beyond 35 per week are required.

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
