Job Description
- Supervise a team of housing inspectors responsible for conducting inspections of rental properties for Housing Choice Voucher participants
- Ensure that inspections are conducted in accordance with HQS and other applicable regulations
- Provide guidance and training to inspection staff on HQS and other regulations, inspection procedures, and effective communication with program participants and property owners
- Manage the scheduling and coordination of inspections, ensuring that all inspections are conducted in a timely and efficient manner
- Oversee the quality of inspection reports, ensuring that reports are accurate, complete, and timely
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting of inspection results
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all inspections and related activities
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve inspection processes and quality
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 5-7 years of experience in housing inspection or a related field, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience
- In-depth knowledge of HQS and other applicable regulations related to rental housing
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify deficiencies and violations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with program participants, property owners, and inspection staff
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with inspection software preferred
