Definition: Under general supervision, performs journey level plastering work on new construction, alterations, or repairs of dwelling units or other structures. The employee receives assignments from the supervisor, who defines objectives, priorities, and deadlines, and assists the employee with unusual situations that do not have clear precedents.
- Removes old plaster and prepares surfaces for plastering.
- Masks work area with plastic; applies scratch, brown, and finish coats of plaster, lath and stucco to walls and ceilings; smooths corners and angles.
- Uses hang tools, brushes, rollers, step, and extension ladders, drop cloths, scaffolding, and walking planks.
- Maintains tools and equipment in satisfactory working order.
- Requisitions materials; maintains accurate work and supply records.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: High school graduation or equivalent, supplemented by four (4) years of experience, including completion of an approved apprenticeship program, OR equivalent evidence of journeyman status; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Requirements: Must possess a valid California Class "C" Driver's License.
Physical Class: "4" - Heavy
