RESIDENT ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST
The Reno Housing Authority is seeking candidates with exceptional customer service skills for the position of Resident Engagement Specialist. In this position you would be responsible for recruiting, supporting, marketing, monitoring, and reporting of educational, social service, employment support, and other programs and services intended to assist the Housing Authority’s rental assistance and public housing families in achieving economic self-sufficiency.
This position performs a variety of duties which include:
- Serve as an advocate for RHA Resident Services programs, activities, and goals. Engages with service delivery partners, other interested and involved organizations, community representatives, and clients to ensure the RHA mission and Resident Services department are properly represented.
- Promote resident services programs and events. Establishes and maintains effective, professional relationships with service delivery partners, other interested and involved organizations, community representatives, and clients.
- Provide input, information, and materials (as requested) that support internal and external communication efforts about programming and opportunities.
- Assist in developing marketing plans to promote resident services activities and attract client participants.
- Coordinate, write and edit newsletters, community announcements, outreach and marketing materials.
- Coordinate and conduct monthly resident council meetings.
- Conduct orientation; host presentations provided by partnering agencies; facilitate work readiness and financial education workshops; design and coordinate other special programs and activities.
- Coordinate the collection of data, information and documentation to properly evaluate resident services programs and activities. Ensures adherence to data collection confidentiality requirements.
- Assess and analyze data, communicate findings and recommendations to the Director of Resident Services to utilize in the planning process.
- Provide clients information on resident services programs, with referral to the appropriate staff for individualized support or follow-ups.

WHAT IS NEEDED?
The minimum qualifications needed for this position are:
- High School diploma or equivalent; Completion of two (2) years of college courses in communications, public relations, marketing, social services, or related field is preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of increasingly responsible administrative/clerical support experience
- A minimum of one (1) year of community engagement/outreach, public relations, developing marketing materials, OR program/event planning experience, preferably in a social service or community service agency.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work as determined by Human Resources.
