Job Information
Position starting pay: $25.82/hour. The initial review of applications will begin starting the week of April 21st 2025. Applications received before the initial review date will be considered, with qualifying applicants being eligible to participate in the phone screen process.

Position Summary
Under general supervision, plan, coordinate and provide resident, family, community service, community building, and social and educational services to improve the stability, quality of community life, and wellness of individuals and families. Duties are site or program based, vary with site or program needs, and may include, for example, to assess the needs of individuals and families in order to provide referrals or connect them to community service providers and partners; to provide ongoing case coordination and resident communications; to collaborate with site management staff and other key housing staff to ensure all services are coordinated effectively and consistently; to respond to and intervene in resident problems and crises, to create, develop, and implement community, organization, and program initiatives; and to create and implement resident initiatives designed to build leadership and promote inclusion in the development and strengthening of the communities.
Day-to-day Glimpse: Working directly with residents based on their needs, networking with community partners to obtain new resources or services for residents. Preparation of ongoing community events, processing invoices, managing computer centers for the assigned communities.
- Plans, coordinates and provides an array of social, educational, and community services for residents to improve the stability, quality of community life, and wellness of individuals and families in affordable housing; to oversee and implement the activities of community and/or client-based programs.
- Interviews, screens, and counsels program participants and determines the need for supportive services in areas of remedial education, employment, job training, health and wellness services, credit counseling, financial literacy, child care, and transportation. Complete assessments of residents and link with service providers for further assessment and long term service delivery.
- Provides referrals to area service providers and partners, with an emphasis on optimal use of community resources and resident independence in identifying and building support networks. When needed, serve as liaison between residents and area service providers/partners to monitor appropriateness of service delivery.
- Collaborates with site management staff, service providers, and other agency staff to ensure all services are understood and coordinated effectively and consistently; perform or coordinate safety and security function; respond to and intervene in resident problems and crises identified by housing staff and residents.
- Plans and coordinates community activities, such as community meetings, purchasing needed supplies, materials and refreshments, and schedules activities and facilities; prepares and distributes flyers publicizing Housing Authority services and community activities; manages the community center at sites including billing processes and coordinating building maintenance.
- Plans and coordinates activities for the Career and Technology Center (computer lab); prepares and distributes fliers publicizing Housing Authority services; monitors activities and facilities. Coordinate use of various facilities for training activities; contact and obtain speakers for workshops; coordinate provision of program support and equipment.
- Builds and maintains effective partnerships with appropriate local, state, community and faith-based organizations to maximize resident access to all available services.
- Prepares various reports and correspondence; maintains accurate case management notes; maintains caseload to meet the outcome requirements of all funding sources; maintains files regarding tenant and community relations, program operations and other activities.
- Coordinates and performs community outreach activities including conducting door-to-door outreach and other communications activities designed to expand public awareness and encourage participation in community building activities.
- Creates and implements resident initiatives designed to promote and build leadership and inclusion in the development and strengthening of the community.
- Provides staff support to the Resident Advisory Council Representative(s); assists in preparing meeting schedules and agendas, coordinating meeting activities, and preparing and delivering presentations at their district level.
- Creates and helps to establish volunteer and other support programs with service organizations in the community and assist residents to build informal support networks with other residents, family and friends.
- Monitors resident, program, and agency performance; recommend and implement modifications to systems and procedures to improve program efficiency or performance.
- Attend and participate in professional group meetings and trainings; stay abreast of new trends, researches and seeks other funding sources in the field of resident services, community building, and social work.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
Experience with low-income communities/ community engagement activities/working with a diverse clientele, develop and implement programs, educational workshops and other community building activities preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
