Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC), prioritizing work orders, and managing supplies. Duties include seasonal maintenance, pest control, landscape repairs, pool chemistry, and fire pump testing. The technician will also communicate with staff, document repairs, and educate residents on maintenance-related issues, while being available for on-call duties.
Hiring rate is $25.05 per hour. Anticipated salary range is $25.05 - $31.69 per hour. Candidates with training needs may be hired at a training rate of $22.69 - $24.94 per hour.
Work orders and data entry are all conducted on a company-issued phone. You'll be provided with a company vehicle for your workday and all vehicle maintenance is handled by employer.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. plus rotating on-call schedule. On-call duty lasts 7 days, including overnights and weekends. Rotation averages every 7 - 8 weeks.
Job Duties
- Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems.
- Prioritize work orders, evaluate and estimate time, request and track tools, equipment, and supplies for completing assigned projects/tasks.
- Complete required work order information, document damages/repairs, add notes/photos to reports, and correct discrepancies as needed.
- Exchange information, ask questions check for understanding in English or Spanish.
- Confer with the manager, maintenance staff, and property managers to identify issues and discuss follow up items related to property maintenance and turn around schedules.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
- Perform seasonal, weekly maintenance and cleaning duties, pest control, clean up grounds, make landscape irrigation repairs, test, and ensure proper pool chemistry.
- Test the fire pump systems, post notices related to various topics and tasks as needed.
- Educate residents on pest control and preventative steps.
- Perform duties as on-call tech.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent, with experience working in maintenance, building, or landscaping trades. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insurable under HC’s automobile insurance plan at the standard rate.

Residency Requirements
Our work at Housing Catalyst is all about community. Therefore, we consider it critical that our team members are part of the community we serve. For that reason, we require that the incumbent be a resident of Larimer or Weld County. In cases where candidates are not currently residing in this area, we accommodate up to a six month timeframe for relocation. Limited exceptions may be made under extenuating circumstances.
