HDC owns and / or manages over 3,000 apartments, providing housing that is safe and affordable to those with lower incomes, focusing on seniors, families, and individuals living with disabilities. Position Summary :
Primary responsibility is to lead HDC’s resource development and community partnership strategies. This includes building, developing, cultivating, and stewarding key relationships with donors, partners, funders, and community stakeholders to generate revenue, ensure financial sustainability, and advance HDC’s mission. Additionally responsible for cultivating and stewarding HDC’s community partnership strategy to meet fundraising goals, identify and support real estate development opportunities and leverage social service programs for residents. Works collaboratively with the Executive Office, Board of Directors, and senior leadership to cultivate a culture of philanthropy and partnership across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

- Create, execute, and manage a comprehensive resource development plan to achieve annual fundraising goals that ensures steady growth and sustainability of the organization and increases contributed revenue based on current program priorities and organizational needs. This includes but is not limited to public and private sources such as foundations, government, corporations, and individuals. The plan will include short and long-term goals, specific action steps and deliverables, and a process for monitoring and evaluating success through key performance indicators.
- Develop and lead a community partnership strategy, maintaining cultivation and stewardship plans in collaboration with others, and managing the tracking of goals, objectives, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with teams and build capacity across business lines to strategically develop partnerships, raise resources, and leverage services that will advance HDC’s mission, increase impact and visibility across HDC’s three-state footprint.
- Maintain existing and cultivate new relationships and new revenue streams with corporate, foundation, government, and individual prospects and develop effective engagement strategies to maintain authentic and meaningful connections. Deploy Executive and Senior Leadership as appropriate.
- Responsible prospect research, proposal writing, grant / KPI tracking and reporting, donor cultivation and donor recognition.
- Maintain reporting and compliance of funder requirements and recognition of gifts and contributions, which includes NeighborWorks America.
- Develop and maintain a donor database and use data analysis to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making.
- Stay current on best practices and industry trends in fundraising and implement new ideas and strategies to advance growth and provide content expertise to cultivate and steward funder relationships and community partnerships.
- Provide staff support to HDC’s Resource Development Committee of the Board of Directors.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to fundraising and development activities.
