Vice-President of Accounting
Purpose
An experienced accountant with supervisory experience to perform monthly enterprise fund accounting work. This is a full-time position located in Shreveport, LA. A hybrid work-from-home schedule is available. Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities
A. Prepare monthly financial reports for assigned clients:
- Record and report financial transactions.
- Review account classification, payroll, and other fiscal records to ensure accurate reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts and subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Maintain grant files to ensure the clients are adhering to HUD guidelines.
B. Provide additional support to team members with proper coding of expenditures.
C. Assist in preparing annual budgets, answering audit requests, and reporting to HUD on various matters.
D. Provide backup for client payroll approval and year-end reporting.
Education and Experience
A. Possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major work in accounting; and
B. Intent of obtaining a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license; and
B. Possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major work in accounting; and
C. Five years of increasingly responsible technical accounting experience; and
D. Two years of experience supervising accountants; and
E. Governmental accounting experience; or
F. Any equivalent combination of education and experience, with additional work experience substitution for the required education.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills
A. Knowledge of standard accounting practices/procedures (SAP). Must be familiar with GAAP.
B. Ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports, and prepare a variety of financial statements, reports and analyses.
C. Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
D. Very detail-oriented.
E. Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
