Housing Works fights for funding and legislation to ensure that all people living with HIV/AIDS have access to quality housing, healthcare, HIV prevention, and treatment, among other lifesaving services.

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience


Overview:

The Housing Works Inc. Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) Program is a collaboration between Housing Works Inc. and the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) to provide jail-bound individuals 18 years of age and older with comprehensive, holistic behavioral health services. Individuals involved in the Brooklyn and Manhattan Criminal and Supreme Courts are eligible for the following court-mandated services operated through Housing Works Inc. Article 28 OASAS clinics: case management, IDs and documents retrieval, connection to health and wellness services, individual counseling and group counseling interventions. The Clinical Coordinator will be primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of the ATI Program. These responsibilities include: providing supervision to the Case Managers and Peer Navigators, ensuring quality assurance and fidelity of the program model, conducting individual counseling sessions with clients enrolled in specialized program services, and troubleshooting any issues that arise regarding client care and access to services. The Clinical Coordinator will be stationed in both the Park Avenue clinic and East New York Health Center where the ATI Program operates services. The ideal candidate will have an active NYS LMHC, LMSW or LCSW licensure, experience working with court-mandated clients or individuals involved in the criminal legal system and experience supervising teams.


Responsibilities:

Primary:

  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations of the ATI Program.
  • Conduct program quality assurance reports and observations weekly.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement projects.
  • Provide supportive supervision to two Case Managers and two Peer Navigators.
  • Conduct individual counseling sessions with clients enrolled in specialized program services.
  • Conduct group observations and provide facilitators with feedback for improvements.
  • Review and enhance program curriculum to maintain relevancy and promote positive engagement from program participants.
  • Review LSCMI assessments conducted by the Court Liaisons and draft Treatment Plan Recommendations for the court-based team to present to the client and court parties.
  • Conduct PPI’s if requested.
  • Submit daily, weekly and monthly reports in a timely manner.
  • Participates in monthly all-staff program meetings and bi-weekly team meetings.
  • Promotes Housing Works’ core values in day to day activities.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Secondary:

  • Provide culturally competent services in accordance to Housing Works policies and practices.
  • Promotes Housing Works core values consistently.
  • Ability to work with clients with diverse clients with varying levels of service needs.
  • Works collaboratively with other team members within the Justice Initiatives Department and cross-agency.

Other functions that may be required with this position include:

  • Attend and participate staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Responsiveness to emails, texts and phone calls.
  • Ability to adapt and successfully uphold job functions in a full remote workforce or hybrid in-person remote workforce environment.
  • Adhere to remote workforce policies, procedures and protocols.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree required in social services, psychology, social work or other related field.
  • Active NYS LMSW, LMHC or LCSW preferred.

The following are qualifications and requirements of the position:

  • Minimum 1 year experience providing case management or direct client service.
  • Experience supervising team members and providing supportive coaching regarding best practices.
  • Experience with criminal justice involved population, as well as substance use and mental health issues.
  • Strong written documentation and communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOC clearance.
  • Experience utilizing EMR systems.

The following additional competencies are viewed as important to success in this position:

  • Preferably bi-lingual in Spanish.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent or proficient technical skills to perform tasks related to Microsoft Office, email and case management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team.
  • Dependability and reliability to arrive and depart timely for scheduled shift.
  • Ability to frequently travel within the boroughs via public transportation.

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
