Compensation Range: $17/hr - $19/hr commensurate with experience

Overview:
The Housing Works Emergency & Transitional Housing Program (ETH) provides time limited transitional housing and support services to individuals reentering the community following periods of incarceration or other justice system involvement. Program participants engage in a variety of onsite services, including case management, vocational training, housing advocacy and mental health support that address barriers to accessing housing in the community and help build skills that participants can use to achieve and maintain stable functioning in the community. Reporting to the Residential Aid Supervisor, the Residential Aid's primary responsibilities include ensuring the safety and wellbeing of program participants, engage in crisis intervention as needed and conduct facility operations tasks assigned.
Responsibilities:
Primary:
- Ensure the safety, security and integrity of participants, staff and the physical environment of the program site.
- Engage in appropriate crisis intervention as needed.
- Conduct walkthroughs, room inspections and wellness checks in accordance to program policies.
- Distribute and monitor meals provided to program participants.
- Perform light custodial work consisting of cleaning tables, sanitizing surfaces, spills or removal of trash.
- Document incidents or interactions with program staff and participants in daily shift reports.
- Communicate observations of participants' behaviors, or concerns, to the clinical care team.
- Support the adherence of the program's Code of Conduct and report violations of the program rules and regulations.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Secondary:
- Attend case conferences, all staff meetings and team meetings as scheduled.
- Responsiveness to calls, texts, Teams messages, etc.
- Consistently display Housing Works core values in all day-to-day activities.
- This position requires someone be onsite 100% of the time, which may require overtime or shift coverage.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite applications: Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.
- Knowledge and ability to maintain client confidentiality policies
- Ability to multi-task or prioritize assigned tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers, colleagues and supervisors
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with individuals with a history of homelessness, mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders or chronic medical conditions.
- Ability to arrive and depart timely for scheduled shifts.
