JOB DESCRIPTION
Houston Academy is a premier independent, college preparatory school located in Dothan, AL.
Houston Academy is searching for a Fourth Grade Teacher to join our team on August 1, 2025.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal applicant will possess the following:
- A degree in Elementary Education, experience preferred;
- Strong knowledge of childhood development and best practices in education;
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; and
- A passion for working with children and fostering a love of learning in a nurturing
environment.
- Provide and execute a curriculum that fosters growth in all developmental areas;
- Provide instruction in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies;
- Implement a consistent discipline plan in a positive atmosphere;
- Create a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment where children feel loved,
- Promote the development of social and emotional skills, encouraging positive peer
- Maintain accurate student records and prepare progress reports;
- Utilize best practices in early childhood education to meet the developmental needs of
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school
- Uphold and promote the values, mission, and philosophy of Houston Academy.
INFORMATION
Salary will be commensurate with degree level and teaching experience.
