As the Bilingual Family Education Counselor will provide group and/or individual counseling to children, teens, parents, and other adult survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence at on-site, community-based, and educational locations.
Your Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- Three days, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Two days, 11:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
- Work Model : Onsite
- Local Travel: 25%
Our Total Compensation Package:
- Annual Compensation: $45,000.00
- Pay schedule: semi-monthly

Qualifications
The Requirements We are Seeking:
- Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Child Development, Child Education, Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology
- A minimum of two years of experience in counseling, case management, working with survivors of domestic and/or sexual assault or similar in social services setting working with children and youth.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish and able to read, speak, and write both languages fluently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
- Computer savvy and able to learn new applications and systems quickly.
- Strong data-entry skills.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation
What you Deliver in this role:
- You will foster relationships with health and behavioral health community partners, coordinating referral systems for agency clients requiring additional behavioral health support.
- You will provide group counseling, individual counseling, and childcare (on an as-needed basis) to children, teens, parents, and other adult survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence
- You will work cooperatively with other staff to ensure optimal utilization of resources and efficient management of the program.
- You will use resources to provide services to clients.
- You will advocate with other agencies on behalf of adults and children.
- You will implement all program evaluations to ensure effective programming.
- You will provide clients with referral information, counseling, and emotional support in a non-judgmental, non-directive manner.
- You will model and teach nonviolent discipline and conflict resolution skills to adults and children receiving services.
- You will provide social-emotional learning to children and adults utilizing evidence-based strategies on the residential campus and in the community.
- You will provide written information and recommendations on issues that arise while providing services.
- You will supervise and create a safe environment, ensuring the general safety and welfare of children and teens during program hours.
- You will report suspected and prior abuse/neglect to either Child Protective Services or Adult Protective Services when appropriate.
- You will help break down barriers, Mobile Advocacy is required; this includes meeting the client in the community, work or other safe places, etc., and accompanying clients to appointments as needed.
- You will communicate concerns about clients - both adults and children - to supervisor
- You will attend and complete Crisis Intervention Training
- You will develop contacts with organizations and agencies that provide services for adults and children
- You will maintain accurate records and appropriate documentation of services.
