Summary
The Houston Astros are currently seeking a Major League Licensed Massage Therapist for our Major League Team in Houston, Texas. This position will require daily interaction with the Sports Medicine & Performance Team including athletic trainers, physical therapists, team physicians, registered dieticians and strength & conditioning coaches.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities

- Responsibilities will include Spring Training in West Palm Beach FL, regular season home games and full-time travel with the team during road trips.
- Additional off-season coverage may be required as needed.
- Assisting in care and prevention of athletic injuries.
- Proper medical record keeping within the EMR system.
- Various administrative duties as assigned.
- Reporting date would begin Spring Training 2023 through completion of the Major League Season.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (BCTMB) Eligible for Texas & Florida state licensure
- CPR/AED certification Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
- Specialty Certification in Sports Massage, preferred
- Previous baseball experience, preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish), preferred
Work Environment
This position operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is a largely sedentary role; specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision as well as use of hands to feel or control objects.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Travel
Travel is expected in this role.
