Summary:
We are looking for a System Administrator to oversee our hybrid environment, which includes Windows Active Directory (AD), Azure, and AWS. This role is vital for ensuring the availability of authentication services, virtual machines, and data storage for both onsite and remote users.
The System Administrator will work closely with the Network Administrator to create technical redundancies that eliminate single points of failure. Additionally, this position will involve participating in various projects and managing our cybersecurity infrastructure. The System Administrator will report directly to the Network Administrator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the IT team to define service objectives for all departments and ensure their successful completion.
- Oversee the organization's Windows hybrid infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain the integrity, security, and availability of Windows Active Directory.
- Administer Microsoft 365 environments, ensuring seamless integration between cloud and on-premises services for users.
- Work alongside the Network Administrator on DHCP, DNS, VPNs, VLANs, email security, and all associated devices.
- Develop and manage network backup and disaster recovery plans, utilizing both on-premises and cloud-based backup solutions.
- Assist in the development of IT security policies, including configuring and maintaining firewall settings, and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Provide support for desktop Windows operating systems and security.
- Documentation and conduct workshops.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365 and high available network design and services.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols, including LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, SDWAN, WiFi, NAC and more.
- Hands-on experience with Meraki network, Fortinet firewall, and VOIP.
- Hands-on experience with data backup, privacy, sharing (SharePoint), redundancy and recovery strategies, utilizing both on-premises and cloud-based data backup solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server administration and hybrid cloud integration.
- Experience managing VoIP systems, particularly Zoom and TEAMS conferencing.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds Service Desk and Windows scripting for automation.
- Understanding of IT security best practices, including firewall configurations, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Assist the Desktop team in ensuring the smooth operation of services and providing a positive user experience (minor AV issues and higher-level technical support to users.)
- Willingness to provide occasional support after hours or during holidays due to seasonal business events.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field preferred, or associate's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
- 3 years of experience in Network Administration, LAN/WAN management, and network security.
