Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Student Affairs Collaboration & Campus Engagement:
- Actively participate in campus life and serve as a visible resource for students by engaging with Student Affairs and University departments to promote holistic student development.
- Work in partnership with Athletics and Spiritual Life to cultivate a culture of accountability, integrity, and positive formation among students, including student-athletes.
- Collaborate on Student Affairs Division goals related to student engagement, retention, and persistence to graduation by assessing and implementing campus-wide initiatives.
- Student Conduct & Care Case Adjudication:
- Oversee and adjudicate student conduct and grievance reports submitted through the Simplicity Advocate system.
- Manage and assign care reports and student conduct cases to appropriately trained Student Life and Residence Life staff.
- Ensure that care cases are promptly addressed and properly documented, working closely with staff members to facilitate student well-being and intervention.
- Train and support Student Affairs staff in handling conduct and care case adjudication.
- Serve as the primary liaison for the Simplicity Advocate system, managing updates, training opportunities, system reporting, and its integration with other student success platforms.
- Student Conduct Leadership & Compliance:
- Work closely with Gideon Institute Counseling Center, Testing & Accommodation Services, Title IX Coordinator, and Deputy Officers to coordinate the student conduct process as needed.
- Assist with the development, updating, and enforcement of the HCU Student Handbook and Code of Conduct.
- Lead training sessions for faculty, staff, and student leaders on student conduct processes, policies, and expectations.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and external regulations related to student conduct and Title IXmatters.
- Administrative & Additional Responsibilities:
- Meet regularly with the Assistant Provost and Title IX Deputy Officers to discuss cases, policy updates, and campus trends.
- Supervise and mentor student workers or professional staff involved in student conduct processes.
- Stay informed on best practices in student conduct administration, including restorative justice models and faith-based disciplinary approaches.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Student Development, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Christian Education, or a related field.
- Experience & Skills:
- Demonstrated experience working with university students, particularly those with at-risk indicators or behavioral concerns.
- Strong understanding of student development theory, particularly in relation to student conduct and behavioral interventions.
- Proficiency in Simplicity Advocate or similar student conduct software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion, professionalism, and a commitment to restorative justice approaches.
- Ability to be available for night and weekend programming as needed.
