Controller

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and management within the distribution or construction industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting and payroll.
• Manage and lead the accounting team, including evaluating staffing needs, hiring, supervising, evaluating, and improving the Company’s Accounting Function.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and industry standards.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely manner and fully reconciled monthly.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual reviews/audits.
• Manage relationships with vendors and clients.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Liaison with tax preparers for annual compliance reporting and quarterly payments.
• Oversee and manage the ERP system to maximize system usage and productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
• 6 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience in the distribution, construction, or related industries
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
