Houston Country Club is seeking a Positive, Energetic, Outgoing, Passionate, Helpful, and Fun Loving Summer Swim Team Coach for a team with great traditions, comradery and a passion for doing their best. Our Summer Swim Team Swim Coach needs to know how to work with swimmers that are beginner to USA TAG level for ages 5-14 years old. The HCC Summer Swim Team Coach will be responsible for all practices, swim meets, Invitational, attending swim team events, heat sheets, relays teams, and team communications.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and manage all phases of the club’s swim team program.
- Organizes all aspects of swim meets including scheduling individual race participants, recording and posting start times and working with swim chairs to distribute race ribbons.
- Ensure the safety of swim team members, performing lifesaving and / or first aid procedures when necessary.
- Enforce team rules and policies as well as pool rules and regulations.
- Respond to swimmer accidents and emergencies and administer first aid and CPR as necessary.
- Conduct swim team workouts and provide instruction to swim team members; enhance the swimming skills and development of all team members; ensure team member adherence to and understanding of safe training, competitive and swimming practices.
- Assist and support all team-related activities.
- Build meaningful relationships with assistant swim coaches, Pool Committee, parents, and swimmers.
- Give swimmers knowledge to understand and master strokes and provide corrective feedback that will enhance swimmers’ techniques.
- Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment.
- Conduct self in a professional, friendly, helpful, courteous, and diplomatic manner.
- Responsible for running and setting up swim meets.
- Perform various clerical duties in support of the swim team such as responding to parents’ and swimmers’ questions and memos, creating workouts, taking attendance and submitting meet entries.
- Work in tandem with the Youth Activities Director to complete billing in an orderly fashion.
- Maintain routine records related to swimming accidents, incidents and assigned activities.
- Maintain swimming area in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Holds current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Clubhouse Manager and Youth Activities Director.
Requirements :
Job Type : 20-30 hours per week with an option of additional swim lessons and / or assisting with Pool Management
Hourly : April – June for swim team responsibilities
60% for all private swim lessons and a flat fee for all group programs per class
Schedule :
April : Tuesday & Thursdays afternoons from 3 : 30pm-7pm
May : Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays and some Fridays : Afternoons from 3 : 30pm-7pm
June : Tuesday – Friday : Morning and Evenings in June and a few events on certain weekends
