Under the direction of the Facilities Director the Supervisor will supervise, develop, implement and maintain departmental policies and procedures. The supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and scheduling the EVS staff. Assist with ensuring compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares equipment room requisitions and submits to leader.
- Instructs personnel in use of new equipment, cleaning techniques/ methods, and cleaning agents.
- Maintains inventory of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment and Inspects all for wear, tear, and replacement and prepares requisitions for maintenance or replacement.
- Cross trained in all areas of the department in order to be able to act as fill-in or help as needed.
- Plans and directs individual staffing assignments; flexes down on labor hours as necessary.
- Maintains labor hours in accordance with departmental budget.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of your department.
- Provide appropriate directions and guidance to staff.
- Assist the leader in the annual employee job performance evaluations process.
- Delegates responsibilities to designated staff.
- Assist in developing departmental policies and procedures.
- Assists in the departmental Total Quality Management Plan.
- Communicates with nursing and other hospital personnel to facilitate procedures as needed.
- Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Represents oneself, department and hospital in a positive manner.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Works in a clean, ventilated, well lighted, heated, air-conditioned facility.
Physical Requirements / Demands:
- Working irregular hours including call hours
- Physically demanding, high-stress environment
- Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions
- Pushing and pulling heavy objects
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
- Position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
- Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing
