What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Aide position at Houston County Minnesota?
The primary functions of this Case Aide position will include providing case management support to the Income Maintenance Unit of the Public Health & Human Services Dept., along with additional para-professional and clerical tasks as assigned.
POSITION PURPOSE
A clerical employee who acts under the general supervision of a unit supervisor and is responsible for performing a variety of para-professional tasks related to the delivery of services by agency social workers, eligibility workers, and nurse-case managers.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
A majority of the Case Aide duties are performed independently but in accordance to standard policies, procedures and/or protocols. Primary responsibilities include acting as front line contact for the Case Aide’s assigned division/unit (Financial Assistance, Social Services, or Public Health) and case management support for that division/unit. *Individual Agency Case Aide duties may be assigned based on County need.

Education and experience
- Two years of study at an accredited two- or four-year college/university with an emphasis in the behavioral sciences or related field (at least 23 quarter or 16 semester credits)
- Two years of experience as a community service aide or similar experience in a private non-profit agency or other public agency
- Two years of successful clerical experience in a social services/human services agency
- Three years of successful clerical exp. and/or exp. working with the public, or the equivalent
- Minnesota DHS Case Aide Merit qualified
