Summary and relationship to the curriculum: This position will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the district mission statement. This position implements a standard of performance for each School Nutrition Manager to ensure that each customer has the opportunity to enjoy safe, attractive, and nutritious meals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports school level managers in all processes related to the management of the school nutrition program.
- Provides positive leadership and direction to managers and staff, which support productivity, teamwork, and safety.
- Conducts reviews of program operations to ensure that federal, state, and local policies and procedures related to the School Nutrition Program (SNP) are fully implemented.
- Monitors and analyzes school level data as well as financial reports.
- Provides guidance to managers on how to increase the efficiency of the operation.
- Works cooperatively with the SNP Director and other central office staff to successfully manage all aspects of the school nutrition program.
- Participates in professional learning opportunities through school nutrition related associations and groups. Supports and encourages staff to participate in professional learning opportunities.
- Displays a positive attitude, spreads enthusiasm, and enjoys serving people.
- Cooperates with all stakeholders to make the school nutrition program a part of the total educational experience for children.
- Performs any other additional duties as assigned.

- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED. A minimum of 5 years experience as a School Nutrition Manager preferred.
- Certificate or License Required: Completion of Orientation of New Employees (ONE) and (Training in Depth) TID 1a, TID 1b, TID 2, TID 3, and TID 4 preferred. Current ServSafe certification required and maintained throughout employment.
- Language Skills: Must have ability to read and comprehend job specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position specific manuals. Must have ability to write correspondence and reports. Must have ability to effectively articulate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Mathematical Skills: Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Must have ability to conduct position related data analysis. Must have ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Must be able to facilitate the problem solving processes. Must have ability to synthesize workable options from given facts, and assist in the development of workable solutions.
- Technical Ability: Must have considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job specified technologies.
- Customer Service Skills: Must be able to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, students using tactful yet effective skills. Must collaborate well with others and display a cooperative attitude. Must be service oriented and actively seek ways to assist others.
Professional Requirements: Must serve as a role model to students. Appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and lift. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must be able to exert or lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Frequent travel involves exposure to traffic and outdoor elements.
Travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently working in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
