Job Description
This position is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Education and be certified to teach in the state of Georgia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students on caseload
- Facilitate home-school communication through conferences, phone calls, and written correspondence
- Work collaboratively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents
- Maintain accurate records on students and comply with administrative regulations and Board policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent experience
- Valid Georgia professional teaching certificate in assigned teaching field
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Effective communication skills to present information to students and staff
Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to walk, stand, lift up to 75 pounds, and occasionally crouch or kneel.
