Medical Assistant ( Allergy)

Description

Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Reports to clinic coordinator or practice administrator
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant
• Assist physician or physician assistant in exam rooms
• Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs including weight, blood pressure, pulse temperature and document all the information in patient chart.
• Give instructions to patient as instructed by physician or physician assistant.
• Scheduling of surgeries, verification of insurance, collection of insurance charges, explain surgery and insurance charges to patient.
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients medical record prior to their appointment. Filing of medical records, importing of paper charts into EHR (daily)
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
• Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
• Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistant.
• Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen cold sterilizations fluid change, scope and autoclave cleaning etc.)
• Assisting the front office with check in and assisting patients with Phreesia pads.
• All other duties as assigned by clinic coordinator/Lead or practice administrator

Qualifications

Knowledge and Qualification:

• Knowledge in Healthcare field and medical specialty(otology)
• Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
• Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
• Applicant must be polished and present excellent communication skills
• Experience in working in a private practice setting is highly desirable
• Applicant must have the ability to multi-task and have working knowledge of medical terminology, writing prescriptions and surgery terminology
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook)
• Knowledge of EHR
