POSITION SUMMARY
Contributes to the organization by directing and supervising the day-to-day functions of the assigned clinic in accordance with the Physician's standards. The Practice Manager is responsible for carrying out all company policies. In addition, this position will also help with special projects assigned by upper management. Key responsibilities include financial, office administrative duties, insurance administration and personnel and project management. Some travel to multiple locations as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing the day-to-day activities of the clinic at the Physicians direction.
Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures for the clinic in concurrence with the overseeing Physician.
Manages the staffing of the clinic: may conduct performance evaluations for staff and manages the accurate reporting and approval of staff members timecards.
Interviews and provides support to the Physician in selecting practice staff members.
Provides technical training to newly hired staff.
Coordinates and monitors Research activities at the Physicians direction.
Participate in the daily staffing as an Ophthalmic Assistant.
May act as scribe to assist physicians with entering exam information into electronic record.
All other duties as assigned based on business operational needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate. Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations. Ability to periodically life up to 25 lbs.
Classified as having no occupational exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.

This position oversees the clinic staff of the Overseeing Physicians practice.

Qualifications
COMPETENCIES
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Health Care Administration is desired and/or extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES: N/A
EXPERIENCE: 5 or more years of experience in an Ophthalmic Practice with increasing responsibility. Leadership Experience in Clinical Setting, Working Clinical Practice Manager, Bilingual Spanish Preferred.
