Job Title : Assistant Branch Manager - Sugar Land Location

Position : Exempt / Full Time

Role :

Looking for an outgoing personality to direct a medium size, Credit Union facility. This individual will ensure the Branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service and growth plans and is committed to the vision of the Credit Union. Successful candidate should be self-motivated, energetic, and take initiative. Possess strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills. Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

  • Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations, suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the branch, including cash handling, opening closing procedures and transaction monitoring. Assist with overseeing the branch's security protocols and safety measures.
  • Directs, develops, motivates, coaches, provides performance feedback and disciplines branch personnel, administers performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel action.
  • Assists members with submitting loan requests and collecting required documentation needed. Assists with opening and closing of member accounts, answers questions on services and products available at the Credit Union and help with member problems.
  • Ability to develop and promote great community relationships and cultivate opportunities for business development with events and outreach in order to grow membership through community involvement and bring in new Business Partners in the area branch is located.
  • Monitors branch operations and operating results relative to established objectives and goals and ensures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with all credit union regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and submits standard reports and attends scheduled management meetings. Identifying risks and escalate concerns to Branch Manager.
  • Monitors all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Help minimize loss of account relationships and introduce existing members and new members to new services.
  • Must have the ability to implement programs, set priorities and guide / lead others toward required goals. Maintain open communication with Branch Manager and Assistant Vice President
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements :

  • To maintain a cohesive, highly trained and motivated staff, sufficient to meet the needs of the Credit Union.
  • To ensure the departments process member transactions with minimal errors and to member's satisfaction.
  • To provide training, development, support and leadership for all direct reports. Proactively promoting an advocacy culture within the department, both by example and training employees to identify the opportunities.
  • To complete performance reviews by due date.
  • Is responsible for compliance with all required regulations and policies, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional service to customers and resolve escalated issues promptly.
  • Must be professional, with the ability to demonstrate leadership, dependability, productivity and member service qualities.
  • Knowledge and Skills :

    Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

    Education A high school education or GED.

    Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and / or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

    Other Skills Must have good listening and communications skills; able to operate a 10- key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard; able to make decisions with minimum information.
