POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for providing administrative and data entry assistance to the Department. This position provides exceptional customer service and support to all programs and maintain the integrity of data for the Houston Food Bank.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reliable, consistent, attendance is a requirement. This position requires punctuality and dependable attendance to meet the needs of the business, including attending and taking part in meetings and presentations.
- Processes product reclasses, Volunteer Services project tags, returned product, and waste product adjustments daily.
- Processes project paperwork and creates new pallet tags.
- Processes inventory adjustments before the end of the month.
- Creates item numbers with detailed descriptions, units of measure, weight, etc.
- Works in Microsoft Word Processing, NetSuite, Waerlinx, Excel spreadsheets, Smartsheet, and other programs.
- Processes and files documents in a timely manner.
- Maintains professional business relations with internal staff and outside departments.
- Keeps management well informed of area activities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma from an accredited school or general education development (GED) certificate
- 2 years of data entry experience with a strong emphasis on accuracy
- 2 years of experience in an office/clerical position
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Sheets, DocuSign, keyboard, 10-key

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While the job is generally performed in an enclosed office environment, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, strong food-related smells, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the employee will be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels (e.g., horns, fans).

This role supports hours of operations at the Houston Food Bank facilities, as necessary, and may require flexibility (e.g., times of disaster, community events, company events).
