What will I be doing?
H-GAC is seeking an Auditor to join the Internal Audit department. The incumbent will plan and perform internal audits, reviews, and special projects that enhance operations, safeguards assets, improve management controls, and promote efficiency in organizational units as well as compliance with state and federal requirements. In addition, the incumbent will work in sub-recipient monitoring of H-GAC contractors including site visits, and desk reviews of audited annual financial reporting packages. The incumbent will also complete standard working papers and prepare report drafts at the completion of most projects and/or audits.
Key Qualifications
ü Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
ü Computer skills and software experience in Office 365, Teams, Word, and Excel, and ability to do data analysis, and statistical sampling using software.
Do you have…
ü Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
ü 3 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
Preferred qualifications
ü 3 years of experience in internal auditing or public accounting.
ü Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); or in the process of obtaining certification.
