What will I be doing?
- Support H-GAC’s Area Agency on Aging by overseeing and monitoring home repair projects from conception to completion
- Conduct client interviews, assess home repair needs, and make work recommendations
- Review construction plans and bids to determine they are in accordance with local building codes, priced reasonably and appropriate for the modification
- Monitor of home construction sites to ensure modifications meet approved construction authorization and maintain an up-to-date record of construction activity and completion
- Act as liaison between client and contractor to keep up high levels of communication throughout the work process
- Perform home inspections and approve final contractor’s home modification/repair
- Complete monthly reports on the status of work projects
- Regional travel approximately 80% of the time
Position requires working in agency's southwest satellite office located in Richmond, Texas.
Key Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge in building codes, material analysis and cost, construction process, industrial standards and building structures.
- Knowledge of engineering principals and legal codes and policies
- Compassion for older adults and persons with disabilities
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Maintain a Texas Driver’s License and auto insurance policy
- Maintain State approved construction inspector license or certificate (preferred)
- Experience as a home inspector (preferred)
- Speaking another language is a plus, but not required
Do you have…
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
- 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties

Salary : $69,572 - $85,000
