What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carnival Customer Experience Seasonal position at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo?
HLSR is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that promotes agriculture by hosting an annual, family-friendly experience that educates and entertains the public, supports Texas youth, showcases Western heritage, and provides year-round educational support within the community.
Since its beginning in 1932, the Rodeo has committed more than $575 million to the youth of Texas and education through scholarships, educational grants, graduate assistantships, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Position involves extensive customer service (in person, by phone, through chat and email), computer data entry, processing payments (using Oracle/NetSuite), and filing. Reconcile carnival inventory and assist customers and volunteers with any disputes. Must have at least two years of customer service experience and excellent data entry skills.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be accustomed to a fast-paced environment and be able to efficiently switch between multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work well with staff and volunteers, and superior customer service attributes are required. Must be able to work in an organized manner and be available to work a flexible schedule including several weekends. Oracle/NetSuite experience helpful but not required.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer all guests questions and take ownership in resolving and following through on all customer service issues.
- Exhibit a fun, friendly, guest service-oriented attitude and professional appearance; always providing exceptional customer service to all guests.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of carnival operations and procedures to effectively assist with general carnival questions.
- Collect and log data regarding the carnival experience and effectively communicate information to supervisors.
- Be knowledgeable and proficient with the Rodeo Houston app to help navigate guests.
- Assist the Carnival Ticket Sales Committee with fulfilling their consignment and processing their payments.
- Track and reconcile carnival product inventory.
- Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by Carnival Customer Experience Team.
- Attendance is required every day during WCBBQ and the Houston Livestock Show and Rode
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE
This is a seasonal position, and the longest possible duration is to the conclusion of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo annual event. Scheduled hours may be variable, and the position may end prior to the completion of the event based on changing workload demands.
Carnival office hours per day and the number of workdays per week increase as we move closer to our annual event. As a result, this position requires full availability and a willingness to work flexible hours that include evenings and weekends starting January 2nd through March 23rd, 2025.
