What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waitstaff position at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo?
Summary Serve beverages to patrons seated at tables in bar or cocktail lounge and ensure customer satisfaction through the full duration of the assigned shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Take beverage order and relay order to Bartender.

Collect order from Bartender, adds appropriate garnish, places on tray, and serves to patrons with cocktail napkins. Keep tray, clean, sanitized, and neat.

Collect drink tickets from customers.

Request identification from customers when legal age is questioned.

Remove empty or dirty glasses and bottles and return them to the bar or kitchen.

Set up and breakdown of supplies needed in section based on head bartender instructions.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required. At least six months to one-year prior restaurant and/or bar experience required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current, valid TABC Certification
Language Skills
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee may be required to sit, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. During the Show, the employee may be required to frequently walk to various places on the grounds. The employee may be required to lift and/or move 15 or more pounds. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The employee may be on feet for up to 12 hours during shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Other Requirements
Must be able to work assigned schedule for duration of event. Shifts normally begin at 7:00 AM and end at 6:00 PM. Must wear company-issued uniform vest.
